As part of two
different strands of research I am involved in, I am undertaking a survey
of which technologies people use. This is, of course, a specific use
of the word technology, and it might be better to describe it as a survey
of what internet and PC related software and services people use.
One reason for
doing this is to see which technologies we should be prioritising for
MeAggregatorTM development, and hopefully to see whether we can make any
predictions about what might be needed in future.
The other is to
see whether there are links relating to discipline, age etc. which affect
an individuals technology footprint. This is something which
requires some careful survey design, and unfortunately which has a
relatively short deadline on it - but never mind, I hope to be getting
the survey out to a panel by the middle of the week, and to be starting
to merge data from an identity crawling mini-project by the end of the
month at the latest.
